Update of the plans. Had to adjust some rooms to make accommodations for the entry hallway and working out the elevator positioning. Also, added a bit more furniture, but there is still more to add. The end product will feature most of the main furnishings and decorations. One other significant change was that I altered the design of the staircase. Originally I wanted a grand, curved staircase, but it was wonky and impractical. Now I have a more tradition cornered staircase, though I imagine it's still pretty impressive looking.
My latest obsession. As `Ravenswd and I get deeper into writing Relativity, we've realized it's become important to get some maps of certain locations so we can be consistent in our descriptions. I actually have very clear ideas of the layouts of most of the places, but there were some rough spots and it really helped me to graph them out.
One thing I learned art-wise from this is that there are very few programs that let you create a simple floor-plan easily. Most are overcomplicated and not as flexible as they claim to be. After going through more than a dozen programs and online utilities, I just bit the bullet and used my paint program. All of the furniture was pixelled by me. I'm not sure if all of it is exact scale, but it's close. I'm pretty proud of it. I may even release a pack eventually for others to use.
Because I have had to create all of the graphics from scratch, this has been taking much longer than I planned. I'm just posting this as a WIP for now and will finish it up later.
